Mentoring Reentry with Jeff Kirkman

On April 7th, we’ll hear from Jeff Kirkman of the Idaho Department of Correction. Jeff developed and manages a mentoring reentry program that pairs incarcerated individuals returning to the community with trained volunteer mentors. These mentors help guide and support people during one of the most challenging transitions of their lives—navigating housing, employment, relationships, and rebuilding stability.

The program has shown strong success in Idaho and is now being modeled by correctional agencies across the country. Jeff will share how the program works, why it matters, and how community members can play a role in breaking cycles of recidivism and supporting safer, stronger communities.
