Bob Henry was elected mayor of Nampa in November of 2013, and assumed office January 2014. Prior to being elected to the position of mayor, Bob served on the Nampa City Council for 2 years. 

Bob was born in Boise but spent most of his childhood in Colorado. He served in the Navy from 1971 to 1975 during the Viet Nam war. 

Bob and his wife, Jane moved to Nampa in 1978 and Bob went to work for the Brandt Agency. In 1987, Bob and his dad bought out the other partners, renaming the business Henry Insurance Agency and moving to the current location on 12th Avenue South.

Bob's involvement in the community began soon after he moved to the area. He was a member of the Nampa Optimist club and was very involved in forming the Optimist Soccer program for youth. He also has been a member and served as president of the Kiwanis club. 

Bob was elected to the Nampa School District Board of Trustees and served from 1993 to 2005. 

Bob currently serves on the COMPASS board, the VRT board (Valley Regional Transit) and the TVP board (Treasure Valley Partnership).

Bob has been married for 38 years and he and his wife have three children and six grandchildren.
