Agriculture policies and Boise River Basin 63 water rights issue

Roger Batt owns and operates Batt & Associates, an Association Management and Lobbying Firm in Meridian, Idaho who represents Agriculture and Natural Resource clients.  Batt serves as the Statewide Public Relations Coordinator of the Idaho Weed Awareness Campaign, the Administrator of the Idaho Mint Commission, and the Executive Director for the Pacific Seed Association, Idaho Legislative Agriculture and Media Agriculture Tours, Idaho Eastern Oregon Seed Association, Idaho Mint Growers Association, Idaho Heartland Coalition, Canyon County Farm Bureau, Canyon Agriculture Foundation for Education, Idaho Seed Pesticide Council and the Coalition for Agriculture’s Future.  Batt lobbies for most of the aforementioned Organizations at the Idaho Legislature coupled with the Idaho Grape Growers and Wine Producers, Sawtooth Law, Healthy Habitats Coalition, PNW Hardware and Implement Association, the Boise Project, and the Nampa & Meridian Irrigation District.

 

Batt is past president of Food Producers of Idaho and of the Idaho Weed Control Association.  He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Organizational Leadership from George Fox University, spent 4 years active duty in the United States Navy and is an avid sportsman and recreationalist.  He is also actively involved in many community and church leadership activities.

 

Roger and his wife Gayle were awarded the 2007 Farm Family of the Year by the Nampa/Caldwell Chambers of Commerce Agri-Business Committee and in 2006 were given the Young Farmer and Rancher Award by the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation for Region IV.  Roger and Gayle continue to assist with activities on her family’s farm. Gayle serves in the Idaho State Legislature as a state Representative for District 11.
